CHANGES FOR THIS YEAR
  • Cheer Tryouts will be held on Friday, March 6th.
  • Mascot Tryouts will be completely separate from cheer tryouts.
  • Mascot Tryouts will be held at a later date.
  • The tryout procedure will be very similar to years past, with a few minor differences.
  • Cheer tryouts will be videoed and submitted to a panel of professional judges from an outside cheer organization for judging. This allows the judges to take their time judging each candidate by slowing the video down and really focusing on the candidates technique, motion placement, and technical skills.
  • Candidates will only be allowed to start over ONE time on each component without penalty. We are no longer allowing candidates multiple restarts.
  • The judges are not local, are not affiliated with our school district, and will not be present on the day of tryouts.
  • Tryout Results will be posted on the cheer website and cheer social media pages within a few days of tryouts. The specific date and time that results will be posted will be announced prior to tryouts.
2026-2027 Axtell Cheer Tryout Information

All Cheer Tryout Material and Music will be posted here. You are responsible for accessing the videos/music and learning the material on your own.

Tryout clinics WILL NOT be used to teach tryout material, but to help you refine your technique and for coaches to see your potential as both an athlete and a teammate.

Therefore, you should come to tryout clinics with a general knowledge of the material. Looking lost and unprepared is never a good look.

Cheer Tryout Clinics will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Sunday, March 1, Monday, March 2, and Wednesday, March 4.

Candidates DO NOT have to attend all clinics, but MUST ATTEND AT LEAST ONE clinic to be eligible for tryouts.

Cheer Tryouts will be held after school on Friday, March 6.
